These are so easy to make and absolutely delicious! I love any kind of philly or french dip sandwich and this sandwich satisfies both of those cravings! I used a 3 pound angus chuck roast that I had seared and roasted in the oven for about 4 hours. Once it was easily shredded with a fork, I added to a skilled of sauteed onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Then I topped each sandwich with mayo, lettuce, shredded cheese and tomatoes.
First, I seasoned my roast generously with salt/peppper and garlic powder and then seared it on boths sides. I used ghee instead of butter or olive oil because it has a higher smoke point, which allows you to get the pan super hot and gives a nice, even sear. Once seared, I covered my pot (cast iron) with the lid and placed it directly in a 350 degree oven for about 4 hours.
It literally fell apart! It was so tender and juicy!
Mix the shredded roast with the peppers, onions and mushrooms. Cook for a few minutes to combine the flavors. Then, you are ready to assemble your sandwiches!
Add to a nice hoagie bun and top with your favorite condiments!
As always, thanks for being here! I hope you enjoy!
